I want to use this for a front derailleur on an old steel bike.  This means open cable along the frame to the cable guide.  If I use cable housing then I need to clamp a cable housing stop to the frame.  What is wrong with clamping the NXS Quantum solidly to the frame in line with the cable guide and not using cable housing?  I do not see how that is different than clamping the cable stop solidly to the frame.
