The BIT buttons are designed to be installed in the rubber brake hood cover, or in the handlebar tape for a road bike.

First determine your mounting position. Cut a small hole, about 10mm diameter. You can stretch the rubber around the BIT.

The ultra flat cable allows you to wrap the tape over the cable without any obvious bulge. The cable ends are 5mm diameter, so can be passed through the cable holes in the handlebar for internal mount type.

Do not apply excess force to the cable, as it could be damaged. Always unplug from the BlakBullet by the molded cable end, not from the cable.

The BIT is sold in a pair. One cable is 40cm long, and the other is 90cm.

@paul Can I use Bits from the old X-Shifter?

They are functionally the same, but different plug. So you would need to adapt them. Old BIT was a USB C. We changed it to a round and smaller connector to enable through bar mounting.
